Western Securities is proposing to build an “Elbow Valley” style mixed use development on 1500 acres located in Rocky View County. The project is situated on the north side of Highway 8, south of the Elbow River, adjacent to the River Spirit Golf Course (for details, please visit www.supportgardner.ca). The plan calls for 1800 residential units clustered within 47% open space. An extensive pathway and park system connects each residential cell to the Gardner Village Centre which is the focus for the community and surrounding areas. The Gardner Village Centre will home to the Gardner Club, a 350,000 square foot private sports and social Club. The Club will feature a variety of indoor sports activities and social venues for area residents (see www.gardnerclub.ca for details). There will be 125,000 square feet of commercial and retail facilities to accommodate daily shopping needs, and a Wellness Centre. The Wellness Centre will accommodate 175,000 sq. feet of public and private health care opportunities for the provision of research, diagnostics, treatment and long term health care, to serve area residents. It is out hope to start the project in 2015.
